These rules and regulations shall apply to anyone fishing at Golden Grove. Please ensure that you have read and abide by these, along with any party, group or guests that you may have organised. Thank you.
1. Fishing Permit and Rod Licence All rods must be in possession of a current fishing permit for that particular beat. Permits are generally held in one person's name and are not transferable. Fishing shall be supervised by the Fishery Manager and/or Ghillie whose reasonable directions shall be adhered to. Golden Grove reserves the right to revoke any permission at any time should in their opinion any of the rules or conditions are broken. Where appropriate Season Rods are asked to display the windscreen disc on the windscreen of the vehicle used when fishing. All rods should also be in possession of a current EA licence and be aware of and abide by all current byelaws.
2. Fishing Times All fishing starts at 0700 hrs. on the date(s) permitted until 0700 hrs. the following day. The Season for salmon and sea trout is 1 April to 17 October.
3. Fishing Methods The Glanyrafon and Cilsane Beats shall be fly or spinner only. The Ro Fawr Beats permit use of the worm, but only in coloured flood water. Rods are encouraged to return all fish they catch. In any event all salmon caught before 16 June and after 7 October must be returned.
4. Catch Returns Each rod shall please submit a true and accurate return of catch (including a NIL RETURN if no fish were caught) every time you fish. Golden Grove reserves the right not to grant further permits or to rescind permits of those who do not submit a return or enter a false declaration.
5. Bankside Courtesy and Behaviour Rods should fish in a sportsmanlike manner at all times. In particular they should not enter the river less than 100 yards above or below another rod without having requested to do so. The habit of rods 'holding pools' for night fishing or seeking to monopolise any section of water by day or night is not permitted. Rods should generally aim to fish through pools and step down between casts, especially if there are other rods on the same beat.
6. Safety Everyone should take care, especially at night. You should be aware that wading can be hazardous and extreme care should be taken at all times, and especially when wading, crossing the river or climbing up or down the banks or over stiles etc.. Rocks can be slippery, there can be deep holes and if in any doubt wading sticks and/or safety jackets should be worn. Ideally fish with or near a companion and let others know of your plans. All Rods are advised to wear protective eye glasses and a cap, wear floatation jackets and use a wading stick, and carry a mobile phone. It is also not advisable to fish while under the influence of alcohol. Any children must be kept under control and supervision, especially by the River, which can be very dangerous. Rods shall be responsible for the security of all their own vehicles, fishing and other equipment and valuables at all times. Golden Grove shall not be held liable for any loss or damage.
7. Access Points Anglers are reminded that the parking of vehicles and access to the river is across land farmed by others. Please therefore use the car parks provided and do not park in such a position as to obstruct access to fields or farm buildings. Please use defined footpaths to the fishery whenever possible and do not cross through crops. Close all gates and use stiles when crossing hedges and fences. Please also report any animals in distress if you see any. When fishing or driving near the river please keep lights to a minimum.
8. Conservation of Wildlife Please observe the Country Code and take your litter home. Nylon monofilament can maim and kill wildlife and should not be discarded.
