Welcome to The Swan Motel, a motel, restaurant and public house situated in the village of Gillingham on the Norfolk and Suffolk border just outside the market town of Beccles.
We are positioned less than 1 mile north of Beccles where you can enjoy a nice walk along the river Waveney. Beccles is a market town in Suffolk. The town stands on the river Waveney, and on the Eastern Counties railway, amid pleasant environs, 8½ miles W of Lowestoft. It belonged anciently to Bury Abbey; and suffered severely, in 1586, from fire. It is now well-built; and comprises several streets, which diverge from a spacious market-place. The town hall was built in 1839, and is used as a courthouse. The corn exchange was formerly the theatre. The assembly-room is a handsome building, with a public library attached.
We have a fantastic bar area, 2 restaurants, 14 completely refurbished rooms all with en-suite and a covered patio area with garden seating.
We have 14 for you to choose from including our Honeymoon Suite which is a particular favourite for when that extra special bit of luxury is wanted, complete with a modern style bath/shower. It has tea and coffee making facilities, T.V and everything is just that little bit extra special.
