Historie

Originally the Hotel was a Gentleman's Residence built in 1854 by renowned architect J S Crowther for Reverend Addison.  It is a pretty slate building in the Victorian Gothic style.

The residence became St Mary's Guest House in the 1960's and later Cedar Manor Country Lodge in the 1980's as more rooms were added.  Finally, in 2004 the property became Cedar Manor Hotel.  It has now undergone a full refurbishment using local materials and all hand-made furniture crafted locally here in the village of Windermere.

Breakfast is included in the room rates, served from 8.30 am until 10.00 am. Guests can enjoy a large selection of cooked to order breakfasts and help themselves to the continental selection at the buffet.

One of the best Afternoon Tea services is also available, Thursday through to Monday every week.  Book in advance to avoid disappointment.  

For the evening,  the local village of Windermere has many restaurants to choose from, the team will be happy to make recommendations.

There is a small garden with mature shrubs and of course the magnificent Cedar tree that the hotel is named after.

Enjoy a cappuccino or gin & tonic on the patio in the afternoon, a lovely way to end the day.

The hotel has two public lounges, one more traditional with a well-stocked bar, the other more contemporary where guests will also find a good selection of gifts and souvenirs to purchase.

Luggage can be stored before check-in and after check-out.

Wifi runs throughout the hotel.
