Oversikt

Historie

Manor Farm Oast was built in 1860, 150 years ago, as a third generation of Dutch design. An Oast house was used to dry hops that were then used to flavour the beer. Oast in Dutch means 'chimney'. The oast which housed a furnace and the cowl was the top of the chimney. The area is rich in history, dating back to 1066, The Battle Of Hastings.

Mat og Drikke

After a great night's rest on king size beds, your day will begin with an excellent breakfast with a selection of up to 9 fruits, cereals and a cooked breakfast using locally sourced products. The sausages are made on-site using free-range, organic pork.

Begrunnelse og hager

Manor Farm Oast is surrounded by 110 acres of apple orchards and the only sound you will hear is the owl or the badger scruffing his way through the trees or along the lane. The night sky is dotted by bright stars with no light pollution from towns. The house has a walled garden with beautifully laid out gardens with swing seat in the summer to enjoy the peace and quiet.

The 1066 Country walk passes directly by the house in between Pevensey and Rye and is an ideal place to stay and explore the wonders and charm of Rye, Winchelsea, Battle and Hastings.
