Situated alongside the A259 – 10 minutes from Hastings to Rye Road – it blends into the beautiful rural greenery of one of the cinque port towns, Winchelsea, the smallest town in England and only 3 miles from Rye, is at the heart of this historic part of England. It is an ideal place to stay, whatever the reason for your visit.

All standard 28 rooms are en-suite and have personal tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and flat screen TVs. We are now pleased to also have 3 luxury suites to offer. These include a small living area, super king size bed, air conditioning, private patio and much more. There is ample free, on-site car parking for all guests and free Wi-Fi throughout.

We have a private function room for meetings or parties which has its own separate entrance and toilet facilities.

Walking routes, including the 1066 Country Walk, which takes guests across the famous Hastings Battlefield. Free parking is available at The Lodge at Winchelsea. It is a wonderful place to observe bird migration. Our reserve has a large group of more than 2709 species of birds that have been recorded around the area.

We also have great cycling routes such as Winchelsea & Rye Harbour Nature Reserve loop and Pett Level Road loop from Winchelsea. On the way you will see historic landmarks and great country side views. If you don’t have a bike and wanted to try something different. We have our own electric e-bikes which we can hire out to you for a day etc. We also have free onside bike storage to lock your bicycles up at night securely and CCTV on site. Also facilities to charge your own E-bike.
