The fishery covers extensive areas throughout Counties Cork and Waterford. The Blackstone beat can host up to two anglers keeping angling pressure to a minimum and providing guests with space and privacy. The stretch is located on the north bank of the river, between Ballyhooly and Killavullen in Co. Cork. This is a mid-river beat. Blackstone is a long, slower moving beat that holds a good head of fish and fishes very well in mid to high water. There are a number of very good taking spots on this beat. Even though this is slower than your average stretch, the fly does work very well here. It is also a very good beat for spinning.
The Blackwater Valley Fishery operates primarily on privately owned beats covering both the mid and lower reaches of the River Blackwater. In addition to their own beats, Blackwater Valley partners with a number of nearby fisheries along the River Blackwater allowing access to greater variety and options if conditions are not ideal on a particular beat. The fishery is part of an officially designated Special Area of Conservation, as such angler numbers are carefully controled and emphasis is placed on ensure that fish stocks are preserved at all times.
