Dee Conservation Code
Glenmuick Estate expects all visiting anglers to adhere fully to the Dee Conservation Code. A copy will be emailed to you prior to your visit.
Fishing
All rods must fish in a fair and sporting manner. Fishing must be with a single fly and spinning is not permitted. Any unsportsmanlike conduct or breach of beat regulations will result in the immediate cancellation of your fishing with no refund.
Fishing is strictly catch & release, and no fish should be retained.
Single barbless hook are encouraged (no trebles allowed) and please ensure that fish are played quickly and handled with extreme care. Please see our Fish Welfare document for guidance.
Please do not remove any fish from the water at any time.
There is no Ghillie for Glenmuick so all anglers must familiarise themselves with all maps, regulations and instructions.
Beat & Bounds
Glenmuick is a 2 let rod beat. The beat extends from the Mouth for the river Muick down to the tail of Mitchell’s Pool. A House rod is retained throughout the season, although rarely used.
Estate Roads / Bankside Tracks
We would be most grateful if when travelling on Estate Roads and Bankside Tracks that you drive slowly and carefully. Please ensure any gate opened is immediately closed again once through. A 4x4 is recommended but not essential.
Please take great care when walking the banksides as these are only very lightly maintained for access. Most areas have been allowed to be wild and we wish to keep it that way. Please take all waste with you when you leave. Fires are not permitted.
Fishing Hut
The Glenmuick hut is currently out of action due to storm damage. A new hut is unlikely to be operational until 2025/2026.
Dogs
Wildlife management is an integral part of the Glenmuick Estate and we would ask that you keep your dogs under control and with you at all times. Thank you.
Water Safety
The Dee can be particularly dangerous in high water, but even in low water the current can be fast and heavy and the stones are very slippery. All anglers walk the river bank and enter the water entirely at their own risk. The proprietor accepts no liability for personal fishing accidents and all visiting anglers must bring and wear their own life jackets. A wading stick is also highly recommended.
Biosecurity
The spread of the devastating salmon parasite Gyrodatylus continues to be a grave concern. To help prevent its spread to the Dee, we insist that all guests that have fished any other water in the past three months must disinfect all fishing tackle according to the current guidelines. A Disinfection station can be found at Twin Peakes Fly Fishing at Milton of Crathes if you have failed to disinfect prior to your arrival.

Catch Returns
Details of every catch (rod name, species, sex, weight, fly and pool) including nil returns must be submitted to the Estate Office by email following the end of each booking period.
